Independent Merchant Services USA
Compare merchant account rates and pay less to take card payments
IMS is an independent merchant services broker. We’re not a processor and we don’t sell card machines. You tell us how your business takes payments, and we get leading providers to quote for it so you can see what you should be paying.

How IMS works
1. Tell us what you process. Who you’re with now, how you take payments and your monthly card volume. Two minutes on the form.
2. We go to the market. We ask leading merchant account providers to quote for your business, using the leverage of the volume we’ve placed with them since 2012.
3. You compare and decide. Quotes come back within 48 hours, laid out so you can compare like for like. If your current deal is already good, we’ll tell you.
Why use an independent broker?
Go direct to a provider and you get one offer, from someone whose job is to sign you up. A broker works the other way round.
- Several quotes, one form. No ringing round sales teams.
- We check the full cost. Not just the headline rate, but the monthly fees, setup fees, contract length and termination fees that decide what you actually pay.
- Personal service. You deal with people, not a ticket queue.
- We stay with you. If rates creep up or new fees appear later, you’ve got someone on your side to call.
Are you paying too much?
Most US businesses we speak to haven’t reviewed their merchant account since they signed up. Common signs of a poor deal:
- Rates described as “qualified” and “non-qualified” (tiered pricing)
- A flat rate like 2.9% + 30¢ on more than $20,000 a month
- PCI, statement, batch or minimum fees you can’t explain
- A rate that’s gone up without anyone telling you why
If any of those are on your statement, it’s worth getting a quote.

Payment Solutions for Your Business
IMS can help businesses start accepting card payments and process payments with seamless support across sales channels. Compare the best merchant account providers and choose the right payment provider for your business, checking integration with your existing e-commerce platform if you need to accept online payments so it also works with your wider business software and accounting software. That can include in store payments through point of sale systems as your setup grows, helping online businesses and other firms accept payments with payment methods that match customer needs. It also helps when you need a simple way to manage in person payments, whether that means using a payment device for mobile selling or field use, with local or international options where relevant.
